Boss Bitches of History: News and Information About History's Most Badass Women

Did you know that if your history class focused less on names, dates, and times, and more on the sheer, insane gall possessed by people in the past that you would never have been bored? Unfortunately most of us don’t find out how awesome history is until after we’ve left the classroom behind. That’s why adult entertainers Ela Darling and Sovereign Syre have come together with the Youtube channel Wisecrack to bring you a look at some of the more badass women in recorded history with their new show Boss Bitches of History.

Putting Women in The Spotlight

All too often news and information about historical discoveries have been slanted toward men. It’s only in recent years that we’ve been digging deeper, and realizing that history hasn’t been solely driven by testosterone. Whether it’s the graves of Viking warriors where the bones belonged to women, famous books written by women who were pretending to be men, or how computer programming was originally something done by women, we tend to forget, cover up, or just ignore the contributions the “fairer sex” has made.

That’s why shows like Boss Bitches of History are important. On the one hand they’re a fun, educational romp that tells a story most watchers don’t know. On the other hand, though, they provide a voice that woman don’t always have when it comes to talking about important historical events. Sure, we all know about Caesar, but how many of us realized the depth of political power that Cleopatra wielded when she joined with the head of Rome? We know the story of some slaves like Fredrick Douglass, but have you ever heard about how Marie-Josephe dite Angelique burned down half a city so she and the man she loved could be together?

If you haven’t, seriously, go check it out on Wisecrack. For other news about gender, sexuality, and changing culture simply contact us today!
